ABOUT

Based in the beautiful rural county of Rutland I find great inspiration working from my home studio in Cottesmore.  My true passion lies in portraying animals and people to realistically capture their true likeness and character. I have been working with pastels for over 20 years and it never ceases to amaze me how many layers of pastel you can actually apply to create a unique depth, softness and colour to a portrait. In recent months I have taken steps towards creating a more looser style, using acrylics and large canvasses...I'm quite excited by it all...why has it taken me so long to have a go?

I am never content with standing still and keep busy with a steady flow of commissions, workshops, demonstrations, children’s art lessons and working towards producing exhibition pieces.
