Morag

'Morag' is an acrylic painting of a beautiful highland cow. In this piece I have embraced a looser, more expressive style by using texture paste and thick layers of paint. A palette knife was key to achieving a rugged, dishevelled look to the hair.

Inspiration

Morag was inspired by my passion for drawing and painting large animals. I am often commissioned to paint dogs and cats in my traditional realistic style but standing at the easel instead of sitting gives me the opportunity to express myself more freely.
